At St. Andrew’s we welcome all those who wish to have their child baptized (or ‘christened’, as it is often called), or who wish to be baptized themselves.

Baptisms are held on the second and fourth Sundays of the month, at 12.15 p.m. Depending on demand, it is sometimes necessary to baptize two children in one service.

Baptisms can be arranged by telephoning the Parish Office, who will pass your request on to our baptism co-ordinator, Rev. Charleen Hollington.  She will then contact you to arrange an initial meeting to get to know you and your child, talk about the baptism, discuss dates and godparents, and take down a few details.  If you make contact by email, we kindly request that you include a telephone number on which we can contact you.

Following the initial meeting, the minister assigned to conduct the baptism will contact you closer to the time and arrange to come and visit you at home.

If you are not sure that baptism is the right move for your new born child, you could consider  holding a service of naming and blessing in thanksgiving for your new baby.  Please contact a member of the clergy team if you would like to discuss this option.
