SAY ON SUNDAY

All children in Year 6 and above are invited to join us on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sunday mornings in each month (except August). We meet in the lounge at Churchgate House Centre at 10am. The Family Service is held on the first Sunday in every month.

The 2nd and 4th Sundays are lead by Wendy-Jane and Alison. We do a range of activities based on a theme ranging from fund raising to games to art to baking. Examples of our activities are:

  • We sponsor a girl in Kenya and do fundraising projects to support her
  • Games: Our leaders, Wendy Jane and Alison organize games, some on bible themes and some just for fun. We also plan and lead our own meetings with bible readings, prayers and games.
  • Celebrations: We celebrate our group's birthday each year and have also had barbeques and a sleepover.
  • We recently arranged an ‘Evening Worship’ service with the theme of ‘Love is all around us’
  • Fund Raising: We have raised money for a school in Kosovo by making and selling sweets, cakes, coffee, cards etc., by washing cars and holding Christmas sales. We now have a plaque and photo to thank us in their school library.

On the 3rd Sunday we help out with Sunday School by preparing and acting out dramas, and by leading games or songs for the younger children. We normally spend the first 40 minutes preparing a small themed drama or other activity which we then present to the Sunday School.

At about 11am we join the congregation for Communion and the Blessing. All children in Year 6 and above are welcome to join us. Everyone is welcome to meet for tea, coffee, squash and biscuits after the service in Churchgate House Centre.

We feel part of our church in other ways too. We have helped with Sunday School Christmas celebrations and looked after the African Children's Choir when they performed here. We are ready to help with anything else we can!

Just come along!
