Welcome to St Andrew's, Cobham. We are Cobham’s parish church and our aim is to know Jesus, and to make him known. We offer a host of activities for adults and children. Please explore our website to find out more. We hope to see you soon.
One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” He said to them, “When you pray, say:
“‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us, and lead us not into temptation.” (Luke 11:1-11, New International Version)
Luke's account of the most famous prayer of Jesus, the one we call "The Lord's Prayer". We are used to saying it together in church or school. But it can be even more powerful if you make it your own.
Instead of saying "we", say "I", instead of "us" say "me". I have found that very helpful. Give it a try!
