Church LifeBell RingersSt Andrew's has eight bells. They ring for all the main services to draw people to church, reminding everyone of the church's continuing existence in the midst of an increasingly secular society. Bell ringing practice is on Tuesday night between 7.30 and 9.00pm. The Chapel of PeaceThis is situated close to the north door of the church. It was dedicated in November 1998 as a place for private prayer and meditation. From April to October it is open Tuesday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Click here for more information Church Gate House CentreSt Andrew's Church is blessed with a beautiful building consisting of a hall, meeting rooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a garden that stretches down to the River Mole. This facility is available for hire for receptions, seminars, children's parties, etc. Please contact the Parish Office for details and bookings. Click here for pictures and more information Churches TogetherRepresentatives from the various churches within the Cobham, Oxshott and Stoke d'Abernon area meet on a regular basis in an effort to share resources and create a friendly and supportive network of Christians within this locality Church Watchingin order to ensure the church is open for most days, a rota of church watchers has been established. This ensures both the security of this special place as well as being a welcoming face to any who wish to spend some time in the church. Flower ArrangingThe flowers that decorate the church are arranged by a group of volunteers who welcome all those who might enjoy this opportunity to decorate the church. The Healing Groupprays both independently and as a group for those who are named on a Cross of Prayer, which can be found by the church door, and for others who have requested prayers for themselves or another. Laying on of hands is offered for those who seek to pray with members of this team during the Parish Communion service. All communication is held in the utmost confidence. Kneelersare available in most pews. These have been, and continue to be made, by various people including a dedicated group of volunteers who meet every Monday afternoon. Lunch ClubLunch is provided, usually on the 2nd Friday of each month, for older members of the church at 12 noon in the Church Gate House Centre. Contact the Parish Office for details. Mothers' UnionMembers of the mothers union meet every last Thursday of the month between 2pm and 4pm at Church Gate House Centre. They enjoy a wide range of activities and speakers. Parish Magazine: "Family"The church magazine is published ten times each year and is free of charge. It contains information on services and other church related activities as well as articles and short pieces written by members of the congregation. Please find a copy within this pack Pastoral CareThis is an integral part of the ministry of St Andrew's. The clergy and pastoral assistants are available for visiting at home or hospital. Issues of a spiritual or personal concern may be discussed in a safe and confidential context. RefreshmentsFollowing the 10 o'clock service on Sunday, coffee and tea are served in Church Gate House Centre. Volunteers take turns to prepare and serve this for the congregation. Squash is available for the children.
